Nordgold received a formal notice of termination of agreement to sell 55.01% in Montagne d’Or project

Nordgold Group («Nordgold» or the «Company»), the internationally diversified gold producer, announces that it has received a formal notice of termination of an agreement with Orea Mining Corp. («Orea») to sell its 55.01% interest in the Montagne d’Or joint-venture company in French Guiana, France.

Orea, which remains the owner of a 44,99% interest in the Montagne d’Or gold project, announced that the Canadian government denied the proposed acquisition.

An agreement between Nordgold and Orea allows either party to terminate the agreement after May 31, 2023, by providing written notice.

Nordgold is currently assessing its options going forward.
