Appointment of Chief Financial Officer
London, United Kingdom, 9 April 2021 — Nord Gold plc (“Nordgold” or the “Group”), the internationally diversified gold producer, announces the appointment of Georgy Smirnov as Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) with effect from 10 April 2021.
Georgy is an experienced leader with a wealth of knowledge across all aspects of finance. He joined Nordgold in July 2011 as Head of Treasury and was subsequently appointed Head of Capital Markets in 2020. Previously, Georgy was Head of Treasury at the international agro-industrial group Sodrugestvo and held various positions in finance at X5 Retail Group and EuroChem. Georgy holds a degree in foreign economic relations from the Moscow State University for International Relations and has also completed the INSEAD Transition to General Management executive programme.
Georgy replaces Dmitry Guzeev following the completion of the 2020 annual audit process, in line with Nordgold’s long term succession planning.
