Construction begins on Gross mine processing plant

London, United Kingdom, 19 April 2018 — Nord Gold SE (“Nordgold” or the “Company”, “Group”), the internationally diversified gold producer, is pleased to announce that construction has commenced on the processing plant at Gross, its major mine currently in development in Russia. The mine is expected to be launched in H2 2018 and the processing plant will be a key element of its operations, where gold bullion will be poured.

The plant’s footprint will reach 12,000 m2 and its processing capacity is expected to be 12 million tonnes of ore annually. The steel structure of the plant’s main building has already been completed, while the construction of the fence and the groundwork for the installation of equipment is well underway. Once operational, the processing plant alone will employ 340 people, while the mine’s total number of employees will be around 800.

“The processing plant is right at the heart of the mine operation, where the ore will be processed and then poured to produce gold bullion. The construction of the plant is progressing well and to the highest possible standards, particularly with respect of the requirements of both national regulation and Nordgold’s own policies.” Vladimir ShimokhinConstruction Supervisor at the Gross mine
