Nordgold presents at MINEX Russia 2021
London, United Kingdom, 6 October 2021 – Nord Gold plc ("Nordgold" or the "Company"), the internationally diversified gold producer, announces that Evgeny Tulubensky, Chief Legal Officer and Director of ESG, and Dmitry Markeev, Director of Transformation and Business System Development, are participating in the Mining and Exploration Forum MINEX Russia 2021 which is taking place between 6-7 October 2021 in Moscow, Russia.
Environment, Social and Governance Session
Evgeny Tulubensky is taking part in a discussion on the ESG evolution in the extractive industry in Russia, part of a wider conversation around the place and the role of sustainable development for Russian companies. As part of his presentation, entitled Building ESG Momentum, Mr Tulubensky will explain how stakeholder demands with regards to ESG have changed over time, leading to the current situation whereby ESG plays an integral role in strategic decision making. Noting Nordgold’s strong progress in terms of its ESG initiatives, Mr Tulubensky will demonstrate how ESG is an active consideration for each and every Nordgold employee, from the Board members down to grassroots employees. While safety is core to Nordgold’s overall approach to ESG, with employee bonuses linked to safety performance, Mr Tulubensky will discuss how Nordgold is looking to continue the momentum it has built so far.

Dmitry Markeev will present A Balanced Approach to the Digital Innovation Agenda — The Case of Nordgold Gold Mining Company in which he will discuss the Company’s innovation and digitalisation strategy. Focussing on four strands, namely safety, growth, efficiency and sustainability, Mr Markeev will outline Nordgold’s plan to invest circa $134 million over the next ten years in innovation and digitalisation which is expected to increase EBITDA by 5%, or $343 million. The presentation will also detail how digitalisation will enable the Company to target zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs), aim for zero construction delays or budget overruns and to become carbon-neutral by 2050.
